AAA Member Rewards Visa Credit Card Review
Bank of America has redesigned this card, and the rewards are awesome - and for no annual fee, no less.
You earn three points per dollar on all travel purchases, whether you book it through a AAA office or another travel agency, and anything else you buy through AAA. You earn double points for gas, groceries and drug store purchases, and one point per dollar everywhere else. You also get 2,500 bonus points after your first purchase, as long as you make it within 90 days of opening your account.
You can redeem your points for vouchers good for purchases at AAA branches - including travel on major airlines with no blackout dates - and vouchers good at AAA-approved auto repair facilities. You can also redeem them for cash (1% percent back), gift cards at more than 100 retailers and restaurants and merchandise.
Rewards begin at 2,500 points for merchandise, 5,000 points for cash and AAA rewards vouchers and 15,000 points for airline tickets.
There's no limit on the points you can earn, and points are valid for five years.
There are some restrictions. AAA clubs in a few states are not participating in this program and some purchases made at those clubs do not qualify for triple points. Check the website for the details.
There's a low 2.99% APR on balance transfers for the first 12 months, although there is a 4% fee. The purchase APR is a low 12.99% if you qualify, ranging up to 20.99%.
