These popular retail websites have great credit cards. If you shop at them frequently, you can get more bang for your buck.
The Overstock.com MasterCard is one of the most generous rewards credit cards out there.
You get free membership in the online retailer's Club O program, which normally costs $19.95 a year, plus a $20 statement credit after your first transaction. So, instead of paying $20, you get $20.
Club O membership lets you earn 5% back on all of your Overstock purchases, plus free shipping. But with this credit card, you earn an additional 3% on top of that, or 8% all in. You earn 1% on all of your non-Overstock purchases.
Your rebates are redeemable for future purchases at Overstock, and there's no limit on how much you can earn. There's also 0% interest on purchases for the first six months, and no pre-set spending limit.
The Amazon.com Rewards Card, which already was one of the better general purpose credit cards sponsored by a retail company, now lets you redeem your rewards points as you earn them. Now, when you earn 1,000 points, you can use them to take $10 off the price of your purchase.
The card has additional great benefits. If you qualify, you get instant credit approval, plus an immediate $30 credit you can use on your first purchase. It's like walking into a store, getting a credit card immediately, and getting $30 to spend.
The card also has a generous rewards structure. You earn three points per dollar on Amazon purchases, two points at gas stations, drug stores and restaurants and one point on all other purchases.
You earn 3% back at L.L. Bean, plus 1% back on all other purchases. When you earn at least $10, you're automatically sent a Bean gift certificate with your statement.
But that's only the beginning. When you pay for your order with the card, you get free shipping both ways, even if you have to return your purchase to the company. That can be a big savings. You also get free monogramming on goods purchased with the card.
And the interest rates are low. If you qualify, the APR is a modest 13.99%. There's a 0% interest balance transfer offer during the first six months you have the card, and the balance transfer fee - normally 4% of the balance - is capped at $50 during that period.
You get a $25 gift card bonus after just one purchase with this card. After that, you earn three points per dollar at W-S, one point per dollar everywhere else. If you're a bride-to-be and registered at W-S, you also earn three points per dollar if your card is hooked up to your bridal registry.
Points are redeemable for a statement credit or a W-S gift card. You must earn $25 in rewards to redeem then.
You also get free shipping on W-S website purchases for a year as long as you pay with the card. If you're interested in transferring a balance, there's an introductory 0% APR for 15 months, and the balance transfer fee is only 3%.
You also earn a 10% discount coupon every time you earn 2,500 points.
