Do You Qualify for Free Credit Monitoring Under the TransUnion Settlement?
If you had an open credit account between January 1, 1987 and May 28, 2008 you qualify for the benefits of the TranUnion class action lawsuit settlement.
By visiting the settlement's website, www.listclassaction.com, you can sign up for one of four benefits.
- Six months of credit monitoring.
- Cash payment, if offered as part of the settlement.
- Six months of credit monitoring and cash payment, if possible.
- Nine months of enhanced credit monitoring.
If you choose to receive cash payment or nine months of enhanced credit monitoring, you won't be able to file an individual lawsuit against TransUnion.
To receive benefits, you must register by September 24, 2008. After the court approves the settlement, you'll have six months to activate your credit monitoring benefit (if that's that option you chose).
The lawsuit against TransUnion claims the credit bureau violated the FCRA by selling consumer information.

I’m excited about this one. I can try their service without actually signing up. I hope they allow for an upgrade to get a real FICO score.
If the people at TransUnion have any sense at all they will be taking advantage of every possible opportunity to upsell the free customers to paid memberships/products. That stuff never works for me though, I’m too cheap. I’ll just enjoy my 6 months of free credit monitoring
The link to www.listclassaction.com actually goes to another site, www.listcreditaction.com. If you hover over the link, you can see this. I wouldn’t use the link provided unless this problem is corrected. Instead, type the address manually in your browser.
You’re right Crystal, thanks. The link has been fixed and now goes to the correct site, listclassaction.com.
