As long as there are credit cards, there will always be attempts at credit card fraud. The last thing anyone wants is to be the victim of credit card fraud.
TheStar.com reports a "new" credit card scam that tricks cardholders into giving out the security number from the back of their credit card. Even though the delivery method isn't that new, the column serves as a warning that we should always be aware of scammers phishing for credit card information.
Here are some tips to help keep you safe from fraud.

Here are some tips to help keep you safe from fraud.
- Only give out information like your credit card information, mother's maiden name, and account passwords on calls you initiate.
- Only initiate calls to trusted phone numbers from the back of your credit card or your billing statement. Avoid returning phone calls to numbers left on your voice mail or answering machine.
- Monitor your billing statement closely each month and make sure any new transactions were actually made by you or an authorized user on the account.
- Report suspicions of fraud to your creditor immediately using a trusted phone number.
- Report lost or stolen credit cards immediately.
