How to remove myself as an authorized user on a credit card?

By , About.com Guide

Question: How to remove myself as an authorized user on a credit card?
Answer: If you need to remove yourself as an authorized user, you’ll likely have to get the primary account holder to make the call. But, this varies by credit card issuer so you can try to make the call yourself to see if you're successful.

However, the primary account holder can't call for you, e.g. you are no longer speaking, and the credit card company won’t remove you without the primary account holder’s permission, you can use the credit report dispute process to have the account removed from your credit report.
