The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) is a non-profit organization whose members provide free or low-cost credit counseling services for consumers. According to the NFCC website, the organization has more than 100 member agencies and nearly 850 offices across the United States. Agency Requirements:

To be a member of the NFCC, the credit counseling agency must be non-profit, provide financial counseling under state and federal laws, be accredited by the Council on Accreditation, and follow the NFCC’s standards.
