$1 Million in Purchases Have Already Been Blipped

It's been live for less than 2 weeks and Blippy users have already made $1 million in credit card purchases. Blippy is a social media site similar to Twitter, that lets you post information about your credit card transactions as soon as you make them. For example, a blip might say "Susie spent $75 at iTunes."

So far, the average credit card purchase is around $46 which owners expect to decrease as more users start signing up.

Signups were previously closed while the service was in a private-invitation beta testing, but a few more people were let in last week. You may be able to get in on the testing by entering the code "1MILLION" at the signup at Blippy.com.

Get the background information on Blippy at a previous blog post, "Find Out What Your Friends Think About Your Credit Card Transactions."
