Here's a question I received via email:

After I ordered my credit report, I saw numerous credit cards with low limits that I haven't used in years. I would like to close some of these credit cards, but I no longer have the credit card number. Only a few digits of the credit card number are printed on my credit report. What's the best way to get the credit card numbers and close these accounts?

Get the detailed the answer in How To Close A Credit Card Without The Credit Card Number.

That was good, explaining how to contact an old credit card company to get rid of the dormant account. Thanks for explaining it so well.
