How Much Can I Afford To Charge?

I wonder how many people stop to ask that question before swiping their credit cards. Considering the high delinquency rates, I'd venture to guess not many. It's an important question that you should be able to answer well before you get into the checkout line.

Charging only what you can afford is one of the easiest ways to stay out of debt and to build a good credit score. What you can afford is not the same as your credit limit.
