A Few Weeks Left to Get 9 Months of Free Credit Monitoring

Tuesday September 2, 2008

Credit monitoring can be an expensive service. Some providers charge more than $100 a year for it. Well, you have the opportunity to get up to nine free months of credit monitoring from TransUnion, one of the three major credit bureaus.

As a result of a lawsuit brought by the Federal Trade Commission, TransUnion has agreed to offer consumers free credit monitoring. TransUnion violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act by selling consumer information. Anyone who had an open credit account in the United States between January 1, 1987 to May 28, 2008 qualifies for the credit monitoring service.

You have until September 24, 2008 to sign up for your benefits under the settlement. You can view your benefit options and sign up for free credit monitoring at www.listclassaction.com.
