2007 Bankruptcy Filings - How Does Your State Rank?

The number of bankruptcy filings in 2007 increased 38% over 2006, according to the U.S. Courts. A total of 850,912 bankruptcies were filed in 2007 versus 617,660 filed in 2006. Though filings increased, the number is still significantly lower than the pre-BAPCPA record in 2005 of more than 2 million filings.
