FICO, FAKO... What Are All These Credit Scores?

In a simple world, there would be one credit score per consumer. Sort of like the way you only have one birthday and one social security number. Alas, the world is not simple and there are quite a few scores out there. Most people have heard of FICO score. Some may have heard of FAKO. Then there's PLUS, Beacon, Vantage, Beacon,,. I'm sure the list goes on. So what are all these scores, what do they all mean, and, most importantly, which should you care about?
