Paying Old Debt Collections

You'd probably think twice about paying a collection that's been collecting dust on your credit report for years. You might wonder if there's any value in paying it off, especially if the statute of limitations has expired or it's about to fall off your report (or both). Sending money to a collection agency for a debt you incurred years ago might not be the ideal way of spending this month's paycheck, but, believe it or not, there are benefits to paying old collections.
