Should You Seek Credit Counseling?

Consumer credit counselors are professionals experienced in making debt management plans and negotiating with your creditors. You might consider consumer credit counseling if you have trouble managing your credit cards and other debts. Keep in mind you have the power to do everything a credit counselor can do. Even so, credit counseling helps consumers who don't know how to get started tacking their debts. If you're looking for a way out of debt, consider credit counseling as a solution.

I think the good credit counselors can help people understand their situation better, and help them see the best ways to improve it. However, I would also warn people to be wary of companies who only claim to help you when they are only there to get your money. Make sure you check your local better business bureau and do some research on any credit counseling company you are considering using.
