Different Credit Scores?
Monday July 30, 2007
Ever purchased your credit score from different bureaus on the exact same day only to notice your credit score is different with each of them?
The main reason this happens is because your credit reports - which hold the data used to calculate your credit score - are different. If you have data in one credit report but not in another, it's likely you'll notice a difference, especially if the difference is a late payment or collection account.
It's often a good idea to get your credit reports at the same time as your credit scores, so you can easily compare the data between bureaus. If you notice inaccurate information being reported, like a late payment that was actually paid on time, you can file a credit report dispute with the credit bureau(s) listing the information.
