Restore Peace To Your Home - Stop Debt Collectors From Calling You

Wednesday April 18, 2007
Any time a debt collector calls is an inopportune time. The good news is, you have the right to stop these calls. All you have to do is write a letter asking the debt collector not to call you any more. It’s just as simple as that.

Making such a request over the phone isn’t enough because the debt collector doesn’t have to honor this request. But, if you send a letter, federal law says the collector has to abide by it. Make sure you send a certified letter with return receipt requested so you have proof of the letter’s receipt.
