FTC Stops Debt Reduction Scheme

Wednesday March 28, 2007
The FTC has taken action to halt the operations of a group of debt consolidation companies operating under the names Debt Set Inc, Debt-Set, and Resolve Credit Counseling, Inc. You can view the official press release for a more complete listing of the corporate and individual defendants involved.

The companies have been found in violation of the FTC Act in their promises, and subsequent failures, to reduce clients’ debt.

Debt Set Inc. is the perfect example of why it's important to choose a debt management company wisely. When you’re overwhelmed with debt, it’s easy to fall prey to lofty promises made by debt companies. Don’t let your anxiousness for debt relief lead to a costly decision.
