Far too many companies are capitalizing on the high level of consumer debt. Knowing that consumers are desperate for debt relief, many of these so-called debt management companies only see dollar signs. Often, debt management companies have unscrupulous practices that only makes the situation worse for the consumer. Meanwhile, the company laughs its the way to the bank.

That’s not to say that there isn’t relief in using a debt management company. The key is knowing what to watch-out for and using that information to choose a company that is genuinely concerned with helping you get out of debt.
