Consumers with credit cards from JPMorgan or Citigroup now face lower penalties from credit card mistakes. Both banks have modified some rates and fees that hurt consumers who are already having financial trouble.

JPMorgan Chase will no longer charge over-the-limit fees when your balance remains over the credit limit for more than 90 days. Citigroup has removed the universal default that increases interest rates whenever you’re late on payments to other creditors. The terms and conditions provided by your creditor will give you information about your rates and fees.
